GMBPS, MSc Psych (Dist.), BA (Hons 1st); DipNFTS ; DipACTP
I am an accredited transformational coach and script coach, also holding certificates in counselling skills from Highgate Counselling Centre and psychodynamic counselling with couples from the Tavistock. I have a Masters in Psychology (distinction) and am a member of the BPS, abiding by their guidelines. I am currently working towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute.
As a Coach, I draw from a multilayered, psychotherapeutic and philosophical toolbox. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Neuro-Linguistic Programming; Visulalisation; Mindfulness; Transactional Analysis are all tools I use in my practice, along with a cheeky sense of humour and lots of life experience.
I am also a practicing script editor, having worked for seven years as a writing coach for the British Film Institute’s Screenwriting Academy, and I use many of the same skills in my coaching practice: helping my clients to realise the best potential in themselves and their work, rather than offering quick fix solutions which do not help bring about lasting change.
What brought me here?
I have loved working in film and television for over fifteen years. During this time I’ve worn a lot of hats: writer/ director/ art director/ set decorator/ script developer and worked on hundreds of projects ranging from Bjork videos to Bridget Jones’s Diary.
The aspect of my career I’ve always found most stimulating and rewarding, is connecting with people from different worlds, finding out about them and helping them to realise their creative vision.
I decided I wanted to explore this connection further, so I trained as a transformational life coach and then as a Counselling Psychologist and psychotherapist. This has enabled me to combine my years of experience in creative industry, with warmth, empathy and psychotherapeutic understanding to help others flourish and realise their goals.
